If I were Miss Universe for a day...
If I were Ms. Universe for a day- I would try and not get confused with my tears of joy by reveling in the glory of the title but sift through the ecstasies to lend something deeper to the sash and the sparkle of its weight that millions admire for its test to beauty. So, what would I do if I wore the crown?
Personally, the crown isn’t about fame but hinges more on its purpose. While many see Miss Universe as a sparkling dream, I see her as a ‘Voice’ profound and true to its ingrained essence. Besides spending days in hospitals or schools, planting seeds of hope in the hearts of the young, and caring for the underprivileged, I’d listen to the challenges of the young generation and address their imminent issues so they prosper by believing in themselves and the power of Ms. Universe title. I’d be honored to break the chain and shatter the glass ceiling.
Moreover, vying for shelter homes for our uncared-for geriatric population who have given up hope of dignity is one of my main purposes. I’d sit with the overlooked and unheard community and remind them that their worth is never defined by a crown but by acts of courageousness. ‘Action’ speaks louder than didactic promises! One, that I wouldn’t commit in my humbleness.
Being Miss Universe isn’t about owning the title but being seen. It’s about seeing those who live in the echo of their own self-doubt. Perhaps, for once, a queen should kneel beside them instead of walking ahead. For me, that one day wouldn’t end with applause, but with silence, the silence of being heard.
